Firmware update install instructions
How to burn an update disc

Just one file called DVDPUPDT.FRM needs to burned a CD(/RW). The simplest way is to drag and drop the file directly to an CD and burn it with the build in burner software of Windows XP. You can find
detailed instructions here. The tutorial is for updating DVD recorders, but the instructions are the same for DVD Players. You may also use a burning program like Nero and burn it as a plain data cd. If your PC can read the cd and see the files than the player will recognise it also.

How to update the player

1. Put in the firmware CD in the DVD Player. After reading the cd it says: This player needs an update. Do you want to perform the update? Yes / No. Ofcourse choose Yes.

This is first message you see, after you have put in your firmware CD

2. The update is started. The television screen can look scrambled while performing this update, but this is normal.

The display of the player will show UPDATE, while performing the update.

4. When step 4 is finished, it will ask you to take out the disc.

It's all good!

5.
To be sure everything wen't well check your version. The player is also put back in it's factory setting so you need to adjust your player options again.
