Movie Overview

Gulliver washes ashore on a mysterious island after his ship sinks on a stormy night, the island is later revealed to be Lilliput, which is inhabited by very small people. After befriending the Lilliputians, Gulliver must help them with their war against Blefiscu, a once friendly neighboring island. The war starts after a dispute over a song, which was meant to be the wedding song when the Prince of Blefiscu and the princess of Lilliput get married.

Movie General Information

Created in 1939, the animated movie was the first produced by an American studio other than Walt Disney productions, the movie was also nominated for an Academy Award. Gulliver's Travels was produced by Max and Dave Fleischer (who would later produce the original Superman animated shorts), it is based on the classic novel written in 1726 by Jonathan Swift.
