DC Movie Player is a multi-media application for the Dreamcast, it has the ability to play a variety of video and audio formats including AVI, VCD, MP3, OGG, and many others. The application is an early Dreamcast player created by bero, the same author who ported many of the older First Person Shooters to the console.

The CD Image contains test release 1 of DC Movie Player along with a short movie encoded with DivX for you to try out the application. Data CDs, VCD, and SVCD are autodetected after disk swap, and although supported, high quality videos, VCD/SVCD and MPEG in particular, may have audio/video synch issues - meaning the sound or picture will skip to keep up with each other, AVI playback is good and an improvement on the DCDivX player. NOTE: this application may not play movies encoded with newer codecs, this application was released in 2003 when DivX 5 was the then current release.

 

Sally and Angela

The story of one ill-fated pair of professional killers. If the siblings weren't cursed by their own ineptitude, thwarted by their 1970 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, and sick and tired of each other, they would be truly dangerous. Boot Disks

The following two CD Images do not contain any additional multimedia files, they contain the original release binary, readme, and sourcecode for the application. Both releases of DC Movie Player had 'Test Version' appearing onscreen in large text, the text has been removed from the boot disks (it is also removed from the sampler CD Image above that contains the free movie), however, the original unaltered binary is included as an extra on both disks.

  • A - Play / Skip to next file
  • Start - Return to menu
  • Y - Rescan after disk swap
